What is your skill?
You need to ask yourself what skills do you have. There are a number of skills that people can learn to actually start making money online without ever stepping out of the house. For Example Copywriting, Video Editing, etc.

Is your skill in demand?
You need to do the right market research about the skills that you have right now. You need to know about your competitors and the people around you who have that skill and if the people really need that skill or if is it just a hobby for you and not the right type of skill to make money with.
Can your skill solve a problem?
You need to check if your skill can actually solve a big problem for a small amount of people or a small problem for a big amount of people. Both ways are the way you can move forward but you need to consider the problem-solving factor before you actually monetize your skill.
Who you can offer your skills to?
You need to understand that there are only a certain amount of people who can benefit by your skill. You need to find the right people and sell them your service to actually make money out of that skill.
FIRST STEP
Become a professional or at least get to a point where you know that you have enough experience to deliver your service or product to someone. Service delivery is the key role in doing a business or a job.
SECOND STEP
Find people who you can sell your skill to. If you can just manage to get 5 people to sell your service to even for free in the beginning then you can build a portfolio around it.
ALTERNATE WAY
Register yourself on platforms like Fiver, freelancer, and Upwork where you can directly pitch your services to people but you need a portfolio to make people trust you for your work.
THIRD STEP
Making the money from the service or the skill. The hardest part for beginners but once you get the hang of it you can easily make thousand of dollars from whatever you are doing .
